This has been a dark AF week, not gonna lie. So make sure you are in a place to read some pretty awful shit. Having said that, when the world is this much of a dumpster fire, Abortion Access Front knows we’ve got to be both the downer AND the upper. Your abortion whippit, if you will.

Medication Abortion Is Safe. Kentucky Lawmakers Are Not.
Kentucky legislators are attempting to reclassify abortion pills as controlled substances, upgrading charges to Class C and D felonies. Conveniently ignoring that MEDICATION ABORTION IS ABSOLUTELY SAFE AND EFFECTIVE, this bill is designed to scare folks into thinking that abortion must be scary and dangerous like fentanyl and heroin!! Since making shit up and turning it into law is apparently a thing, we’d humbly suggest reclassifying the conservative Kentucky legislative body as a “disinformation trafficking ring,” which carries a punishment of 30 years to life of fully funding abortion care. It’s only fair.

And Now Onto The Nightmares Pregnant Migrant Teens Are Living.
Straight out of a dystopian novel (and our own country’s history tbh), the Trump Administration is sending all pregnant unaccompanied minors caught by immigration enforcement to a group shelter in South Texas, owned by a for-profit company notorious for ignoring the medical needs of the children housed there. We had to ask ourselves: why, when there are other shelters that literally specialize in housing pregnant minors, would they send them to Texas? We’ll give you one guess…
