The Headline: Syphilis Is Soaring in the U.S.

The CDC is sounding the alarm on skyrocketing syphilis cases, reporting the highest rates since 1950 and an 80% increase since 2018. Left untreated, it can damage the heart and brain, cause blindness, and lead to miscarriages. And guess where the highest numbers are spewing out of? South Dakota, AKA a state where abortion is totally BANNED, reproductive health clinics are nonexistent except for ONE Planned Parenthood, and has a serious OBGYN shortage. Coincidence? I think not.

The abstinence-only playbook behind abortion bans is the same one being preached in states like Oklahoma, Arkansas, South Dakota, and Mississippi – which also happen to be the states with the highest syphilis rates right now. NEWS FLASH to the puritanical conservies: censoring sex ed, closing clinics, and banning care doesn’t stop sex, abortions, or STIs – but it sure as hell builds a public health crisis. You can’t pray away this one, babes.
The Headline: Galveston man sues California doctor under new Texas law allowing lawsuits over abortion pills

Texas just pulled another bounty hunter card from its dystopian deck. Remember that dude who filed a lawsuit against a California doctor for prescribing abortion pills to his girlfriend this past summer? WELL, his abortion-hating lawyer (who helped design Texas' abortion ban🤢) just updated the lawsuit over the weekend to ALSO go after a California abortion provider under the newly passed HB7.
📜Meet HB7
HB7 is the Lone Star State’s shiny new bounty hunter law, aaaaaand we fucking hate it. This trash law went into effect on December 4th, and basically deputizes Texans to sue ANYONE who mails, prescribes, manufactures, or distributes abobo pills to or from Texas and would be “awarded” a minimum of $100K and a shiny “boot lickin’ snitch of the year” sticker.
🃏Texas Holdem’ Accountable
HB7’s goal? Scare providers, silence care, and clog the courts with bullshit. Texas has sued two out-of-state abortion pill providers in New York and Delaware for violating Texas’ abortion laws, and we know this won’t be the last. BUT GUESS WHAT? New York and Delaware have shield laws that protect medical providers from out-of-state investigations and prosecutions. If these fetus-fetishist fools get away with criminalizing care across state lines, every ban state will hop on the bandwagon.
