The Headline: Committee approves bill banning advertising and shipping abortion products

South Dakota has one of the strictest abortion bans in the country and as of last week, the House Committee decided to up it a notch by approving an anti-abobo bill making it a Class 6 FELONY to sell, distribute, OR EVEN ADVERTISE anything intended for an abortion.

This has all stemmed from a lawsuit that the South Dakota AG has against NY-based nonprofit Mayday Health for running abortion pill ads throughout the state. This just proves that they aren’t satisfied with banning care, they want to ban knowing about it, too, so they are now coming for the MAIL. We’ll keep y’all updated on how the fuckery unfolds.

A new bill brought to you by Rep. Karianne Lisonbee, AKA Utah’s biggest simp for abortion restrictions, requires health care providers to note whether an abortion was “elective” or not in patients’ medical records. GROOVY!

This type of legislation is EXTREMELY harmful. Medical records are supposed to help providers treat you, not help politicians criminalize you. Changing medical terminology like this is just another tactic in their forced birth playbook to make abortion access scarier and more restricted.

This BS bill schemed its way through the House earlier this week. The glimmer of hope? The country’s largest OB-GYN org is strongly opposed, which is usually a sign that anti-abortion goons should sit this one out. As always, we’ll keep you updated on where this bill goes next.
