🩺 Iowa Considering Making Medical Care Harder for No Reason
This week, an Iowa Senate subcommittee is mulling over whether they should move forward with a bill that would eliminate telehealth and mail-order medication abortion. They wanna make people do an in-person exam, and then COME BACK AGAIN just to be handed the same FDA-approved pills they could’ve easily gotten in the mail.
💩 Any Other Bullshit in This Bill?
Why, yes! The bill would also MANDATE that providers say that “abortion reversal” is a legitimate option. REMINDER: This is a made-up anti-abortion protocol that is NOT SUPPORTED BY SCIENCE IN ANY WAY. Goop for misogynists, if you will.

The only ones benefiting from this proposed law are the egos of puritanical politicians. No increased safety—just more anti-abortion extremists high-fiving themselves for making our lives hell.
The Headline: Anti-Abortion Groups Try a New Intimidation Tactic: Make Abortion Records Public

The anti-abortion org Voices for Life is petitioning the Indiana Supreme Court to force the release of ALL abortion records. Indiana has a TOTAL BAN (barely any exceptions), so this wouldn’t just be a data dump; it would be a connect-the-dots map to patients and providers.
🗣️ Bullying Abortion Out of Existence
The Indiana Attorney General already tried this shit last year. But the Department of Health said, “Absolutely the fuck not,” because HIPAA exists and because people. aren’t. prey. A court shut the AG down last year, so now he’s bringing in outside groups to crowdsource the harassment.
🫵 Dragging Healthcare Through the Public Square
Providers already face criminalization, and patients are denied healthcare. But apparently that’s not enough—now they want the few who DO manage to get care to be named, shamed, and harassed to all hell.
The Headline: Independent Clinics Still Provide Most U.S. Abortions

Independent clinics have been out on these streets providing 58% percent of ALL abortions, despite the fact that they don’t get most of the attention. Indies are the Band-Aid brand of abobo, as in, the generic brand exists but this is the one everyone ACTUALLY uses.

Of the 63% of all clinics that offer abortions after the first trimester, 100% of clinics that offer abortion after 26 weeks are independent. When states abandon people mid-pregnancy, indies. don’t. flinch.
