Indiana’s Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith is BIG MAD over a billboard that shares Illinois-based abortion resources across state lines in Indiana. His big plan? Shut pro-abobo advertising down, even though it’s TOTALLY legal under interstate commerce protections. Sorry babes, if care is legal elsewhere, so is telling people where to find it.
🚗 It’s Giving Billboard Panic
Indiana has a near-total abortion ban, making Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan the closest neighbors for Indianians to get abortion care. But Lt. Gov. Beckwith is obsessed with doing the most to control every womb in the Hoosier State, because when bans aren’t enough, the next step is trying to ban information. We literally watched this EXACT stunt go down in South Dakota last month. Same panic, same playbook, new cornfield.

The Wyoming Supreme Court just delivered the final smackdown to the state’s TWO abortion bans, including the first ban in the country to explicitly ban abortion pills. The judges agreed: personal medical autonomy is GUARANTEED in the state’s constitution, and that includes abortion! Sorry losers, it’s a-rainin’ pills, HALLELUJAH.

Yup! Funny story: A bunch of conservative states threw a tantrum in response to Obamacare, and ENSHRINED the rights of adults to make their own personal healthcare decisions. Welp, thanks, guys! One state’s “fuck you” is another person’s abortion rights!

These anti-democracy dorks are already planning to get a ballot proposal in front of voters that says, “We meant to say abortion is def not healthcare, our bad, help us out.” For now, we’ll keep celebrating the advocates and doctors who brought the suit, like Julie Burkhart from @wellspringhealthaccess, who has CONTINUED to provide care, NO MATTER WHAT.
