The Abortion Access Report 1/20/2026
North Dakota Throws Legal Tantrum
We have one story we don’t want you to miss!
The Headline: North Dakota AG orders abortion fund to remove links to medication companies from its website
TLDR:
👶 North Dakota Throws Legal Tantrum Over Abortion Info
ND has issued a cease-and-desist to the Prairie Abortion Fund for linking to resources on its website where you can get info on the EXTREMELY SAFE abortion pill. Not content with banning abortion, now they want to make KNOWING about it illegal too.
💩 South Dakota Pulled The Same BS
This isn’t new. This year (it’s still January) South Dakota’s AG went after a non-profit that ran ads at gas stations that said “Pregnant? Don’t want to be?” The AUDACITY! Anti-abortion states are covering their feral anti-abortion attacks in “consumer protection” giftwrap. Don’t buy it.
💊 Who's Afraid of Abortion Information?
Bans are predicated on the lie that abortion is dangerous— which they can’t prove—so they resort to legal intimidation and performing moral outrage. ANYTHING to distract from the terrifying truth that abortion medication is safe, effective, and boringly normal.
There will be more news tomorrow.

Strong reporting on the ND cease-and-desist. The consumer protection framing is pure gaslighting since medication abortion has a better safety profile than Tylenol. What gets me is how these AGs target information flow rather than just services, basically trying to create knowledge desserts around reproductive care. Saw simlar tactics in Texas where even linking to out-of-state providers triggered legal threats.
