The Headline: Senate HELP Committee Held a Sham Hearing!
⚖️The Senate Has Entered The Chat (AGAIN)
The Senate HELP (Health, Education, Labor and Pensions) Committee hosted a hearing on abortion pills’ safety TODAY. Because apparently the Supreme Court wasn’t enough, so the fetus fetishists who couldn't ban abortion outright are now shoving abortion pills back in the hot seat. COOL LOL.
🎭What To Expect
Louisiana AG Liz Murrill will be there – AKA the same conserviiii who has tried to issue arrest warrants for abortion providers in New York and California, calling them “drug dealers” for mailing FDA-APPROVED meds. So, the conservative science-denialists are diving into their chest of desperado tactics; expect them to claim abobo pills "harm minors,” rant about “coercion,” and scream “abortion trafficking.” Their trash plot? Pretend abusive men are forcing abortions while ignoring the very real harm of abortion bans. It’s fear-mongering. NOT PROTECTION.
🚨The Real Endgame
This isn’t about protecting minors or folks in abusive relationships. This is ANOTHER attack on obliterating abortion medication and access. REMINDER: Mifepristone (the abortion pill) is safer than Tylenol. If they can bully the FDA, rely on FAKE data reports, and weaponize Congress, abortion pills everywhere are on the line. The Headline: Louisiana officials seek to extradite abortion provider from California

👨⚖️ Court is Now In Session for Missouri’s Abortion Restrictions
DECADES of abortion restrictions in the Show Me State are officially. on. trial. Voters came out in droves to say YES to abortion protections in 2024, and over the next two weeks, the state has to justify all its cruel, dumb laws that are meant to END abortion, not make it “safer.”
🖕 The Cutting Edge of Oppression
The state was an early adopter of garbage restrictions, like the 1986 first-of-its-kind law that said docs HAVE to have unnecessary, hard to get “admitting privileges” to hospitals. From there, they kept stacking up hurdles and bans until there was only one clinic left in the state that is now, blissfully, making Missouri answer for its entire history of forced birth bullshit.

Abortion restrictions are NEVER medically necessary. Waiting periods, forced ultrasounds, unhinged clinic requirements ONLY exist to shame patients, terrorize doctors, and make abortion care impossible. The Headline: Judge hears closing arguments in case challenging several Arizona abortion regulations

🗣️ARIZONANS WANT ABORTION ACCESS
Remember when Arizonans made it loud and clear that they wanted to enshrine abortion rights in their state constitution when they voted for it in 2024?! WELL, the pro-no-gressive politicians in the Grand Canyon State are still crying "abobo ban" and clinging onto the state's abortion restrictions for dear life. So, a pair of Arizona abortion providers and the Arizona Medical Association said, “hell to the no,” and sued.
⚖️What Laws Are They Challenging?
After the 2024 ballot measure passed, a judge permanently blocked Arizona’s 15-week abortion ban, because DUH. But plenty of BS laws are still hanging around: a 24-hour mandatory wait, forced ultrasounds, a telemedicine ban on abortion pills, and a ban on abortions for fetal abnormalities. NONE of this protects patients. All of it delays care and puts pregnant people's LIVES on the line. The cruelty is their only point.
❓Now What?
Newsflash to the Arizona legislature: the ballot box is NOT a suggestion box, babes. Judge Como heard closing arguments earlier this week and says he needs at least 30 days to rule. MMKAY. TLDR: voters clearly want abortion access, and the state STAYS dragging its feet. We’ll keep you posted on whether Arizona’s laws finally catch up with what the will of the people, or keep pretending they didn’t hear the voters' screams.
